F-abric: Workwear by Freitag

Freitag Tasche Limited Edition Holey Three

Workwear might sound a bit like an old-fashioned term to be used in a fashion-related article. However, since my today’s blog post is dealing with my favorite pieces launched by one of my favorite brands – Freitag, it is more than suitable to call the brand’s apparel the way they fancy naming it.

Freitag is usually well known for their bags made from used truck tarpaulins and other recycled products. In 2014, they have launched their first apparel collection made from textiles invented by themselves called F-ABRIC. The materials are made of hemp and flax as well as Modal, all of which are resources grown on European soil. The pieces are not only fairly produced and comfortable to wear, but also perfect basics for everyday looks.

F-ABRIC: The story behind

We were actually just looking for suitable workwear for our employees, but then we realized that what we were looking for didn’t even exist – a tough, sustainably produced and compostable material made in Europe. So, we decided to develop our own textiles starting from the fiber up that would fulfill our requirements 100 % – and we decided to call them F-ABRIC.

Facts about F-ABRIC:

  • F-ABRIC textiles are 100 % naturally biodegradable
  • They are made of the bast fibers hemp and flax as well as Modal
  • The moisture-regulating and antibacterial properties of the flax and hemp fibers help if you’re sweating out
  • All of the production stages take place within a 2500-kilometer radius of Zurich
  • F-ABRIC corresponds to Product Class I of the Oeko-Tex® Standard
  • Every piece is made by adults in Europe

FREITAG BAGS: F732 HOLEY PETE

I was never crazy about expensive designer bags and I always thought that, even paying about €50, – for a bag would be way too much. However, ever since I discovered FREITAG bags, I knew I’m going to get myself one someday. I’m aware of the fact that Freitag is not everyone’s taste, but I love the rough designs, uneven coloring and the fact that, every single piece that has ever been produced is unique.

The model I’m wearing – Holey Pete – is one of the 300 Pete-pieces from a strictly limited edition named “The holey Three”. This beautiful bag, which can also transfer into a backpack is going to be available in the online shop in 6 different colors by the end of June.

I WAS WEARING:

pants: FREITAG // sneakers: DIESEL* //
shirt: FREITAG* // coat: FREITAG* // bag: FREITAG Holey Pete*

What do you guys think about the pieces? Have you know the brand FREITAG before?
