As fall quickly approaches, it’s time to take a look at the upcoming trends that will set the agenda of the season. So what’s new for the fall? Plenty of things! One of the main trends is all into the details… the unexpected, ethnically inspired details. A trend which is mostly appearing at summer festivals, will define the styles this F/W – the folklore trend.
The folklore trend brings together the best patterns from diverse cultures and countries. It’s inspired by different ornaments, embroidery, floral prints, fonts… Fashion has a long history of borrowing from other cultures to create new looks that perfectly express the moment. So, this season designers around the world had one idea – to weave tradition in fashion and make tradition looking modern. And they have succeeded.
Alexander McQueen, Karl Lagerfeld, Etro or Erdem inspired by history and ethnical affinity of many countries have created wonderful “multi-kulti” looks. Traditional weaving techniques and colors from all over the world dominated the catwalks and today’s collections.
Different cultures, tradions and legends reflect on dresses, coats, skirts, blouses or trousers and blend together to a singular beauty and mysticism.
When it comes to my personal source of inspiration for ethno looks, then serves me my homeland with hits rich culture as the best starting point. I grew up with folklore elements and I’ve always idiolized traditional costumes. All the more I am pleased to see some traditional ornaments of my country on some clothes.
My look today does not represent the ornaments of my homeland, but this flowers are definitely a part of someones culture. To get a modern and not only traditional look, this basket bag and sunnies round up the outfit.
How do you like it? Are you a fan of foklore patterns? How would you combine some tradional pieces with your modern clothes?
