My very first interior blog post… I’m so happy you guys to finally give you an insight into our new apartment. The first room I’m showing you is the one I was mostly looking forward to furnishing – my very first home office :). Although it is not finished yet, I think I can give you a little sneak peek of it.
Since I work much from home, I can’t describe how happy I am to finally have my own little corner where I can retreat and concentrate on my work. I don’t know if you have the same problem, but when I work in the living room or another room, there are so many things that distract me; And when I sit at the dining table or on the couch, I don’t have the feeling that I sat there to work for a couple of hours, but rather that I just stopped by to manage something quickly :D.
Now that I have my little office, I know as soon as I sit down at my work desk, I’m there to work and not to chat or do some other stuff. It really helps me get focused and be productive.
Now to the furnishing… There were 5 things I knew I needed in my office: a work desk with enough space, but not too big, since the room is not so spacious, shelves, a clothes rail to plan my weekly outfits (and outfits for shootings), a big mirror and a cosy couch. Additionally I had an exact idea of the colors I wanted to have in the room – white, blue and gold.
Now managing to put everything I needed in such a small room was quite a task :D. After a couple of months I finally found all the things I needed.
The work desk is my favorite piece of furniture in this room – it is not too big, but unbelievably spacious. As you can see, it consists of 2 pieces – the desk and shelves on the side. That’s pretty handy, because I didn’t need to buy shelves. Thanks to this, there was still enough space for a couch (which is an extendible one, so when I have overnight guests – which happens pretty often in a Bosnian family 😀 – my office turns into a guest room).
Another reason why I was so looking forward to my own office is space to store my camera equipment and other things I need for shootings. One essential part of this is the possibility to plan outfits for shootings and that’s why I needed this clothes rack in the room. Now I can finally plan the outfits for a whole week and never wake up again not knowing what I’m going to wear. I used to think that a clothes rack was just a thing for instagram pics (well, it looks pretty cool :D), but it actually is really handy.
Now what do you think of my little office? Do you have one and how and where do you like working the most?
