A cashmere sweater is THE ONE piece you must have in your winter wardrobe if you need something you can wear for almost every occasion. You’ll definitely stay warm without having to wear 10 layers. Even though cashmere sweaters are often perceived as something only older ladies wear in an elegant way, today we want to show you 3 street style combinations in order to convince you that they can be pretty damn cool if you know how to style them :). For this, we’ve teamed up with a Direct Cashmere – an manufacturer of sustainable Mongolian cashmere.
There are many people who are allergic to all synthetic fibers, which is why they rather opt for natural materials such as cashmere. Because of the allergies, these people often read up about different fibers and that’s why they know the true benefits of cashmere. We have to admit that up until now, we weren’t quite informed about the production, benefits and care of cashmere. Due to the collaboration with Direct Cashmere, we had the opportunity to get first-hand knowledge of the ressources that are required in order to produce one cashmere sweater as well as how to take care of the pieces.
- Cashmere comes from the cashmere goat
- Cashmere is the most delicate hair
- For the production of one cahmere sweater, the wool of 3 – 4 goats is required
- In order to get a sustainable and animal-friendly product, the undercoat of the goat is being combed out by hand
- The crucial sign of quality is the fineness and the length of the fiber
- Cashmere has to have a miminum fineness of 19 microns in order to be labelled as cashmere. 1 mikron = 1 thousandth of a milimeter
- Cashmere sweaters don’t need to be washed except there are stains. It is enough just to leave them on fresh air for 24 hours
- If you do wash it, then make sure to do it at max. 30 degrees and use the delicate cycle. Leave it on a towel in order to dry.

3 Ways to Style: Cashmere Sweater
By Kaja: The Classic Beige Cashmere Sweater
When I think of warm and chic during the cold winter days, cashmere immediately comes to my mind. Nothing is as incredibly soft and comfortable and also quite functional as a cashmere sweater. It does not only feel soft on the skin, but it also keeps you warm when the temperature plunges.
Moreover, a cashmere sweater is a real all-rounder: From the turtleneck sweater to a classic V-neck or round neck cut, this sweater never loses its appeal. You can combine it with everything and stay always on trend.
For me personally, when it comes to knitwear, a beige cashmere sweater is a classic and a must-have for every wardrobe. It can be combined versatilely in a stylish and modern way and is definitely not something only your grandma would wear. I am wearing my cozy sweater with almost everything!
Today I’ve paired my beige cashmere sweater with a checked pencil-skirt and a camel coat. Thanks to the combination with sock-boots and fishnet tights, the trend is given a casual touch. Cozy, warm and trendy – this piece is a true eyecatcher and highlights every kind of outfit. Just perfect for fall! Right?
By Timo: V-Neck Cashmere Sweater in a Masculine Style
There are so many pieces we could literally steal from our husbands, wear them oversized and also save money that way. My XXL cashmere sweater is actually mine, but my husband could also wear it (if I let him of course, haha). If you follow my fashion posts, I’m sure you’ve all notices I’m a hug fan of oversized clothes and all my combos are a bit mannish. To me, the masculine fashion for women is filled with amazing ideas to make each of us look fabulous.
I’m also totally into straight lines and comfortable outfits and you can definitely see those elements in all my fashion posts. Also with classic pieces like a cashmere sweater, I like to have a cool approach and style them in a more sporty and edgy way. This is why I opted for a sweater in XXXL. I have to admit that, before I owned anything made of cashmere, I thought of it as an elitist material reserved for older people. I was also sure it wasn’t “anything special”. Now I definitely know my gray cashmere sweater is the warmest one I ever wore. How do you like my look?
By Sara: The Black Turtleneck Sweater with a Twist
Hands up if you love turtleneck sweaters as much as I do! They’re such allrounders, you can wear them with anything. I might as well have combined it with mom jeans, culottes, wide, elegant trousers or under a spaghetti strap dress. However, this time I opted for a metallic pleated skirt in order to give the minimalistic black sweater a twist. I wore pointed black ankle boots and thus created an elegant, feminine. but at the same time frisky outfit. How do you like it?
