MONTHLY RECAP: JANUARY 2017

Sunday, January 29, 2017

With the beginning of the new year, I want to start something new on the blog – namely a monthly recap. In these, first of all I want to share my highlights of the month with you guys, but also I want to do this for me as a motivation, just so I don’t lose sight of all the great things that happen in my life and everything I am thankful for. This way, even in 20 years from now I will be able to see which great things happened in January 2017 :). Since I’m not consistent to write a diary, I will at least write a monthly recap. Now let me share with you some highlights of this month :).

Favorite Insta Moments

My favorite Insta Moment of the month is definitely this video. I have to admit, I really have a thing for videos – especially short ones like this, where I just capture my current mood. I’ve been working lately on my video-production skills, so this year you’ll definitely see more videos coming from me. This video, however, was not made by me, but by Patrick Sabo. You may have noticed, that we’ve made lots of pics lately. I just love his work :).

Freezing to death, but hey! The pic is important, right? 😂 #bloggerproblems Pic by @urban_portraits_vienna 💕

This is definitely my favorite pic of the month! I love playing with lighting and Patrick again captured the perfect moment. Even though I froze to death, it was definitely worth it :D.

Moments when all the 3 of us are together, especially on events, have unfortunately been pretty rare lately, since every one of us has her obligations. Timo has to learn a lot for her studies, Kaja has a lot to do with baby Ilija and I? Well, I have more time now since I’ve taken a break from my studies, but I always find something to do :D. On this picture you can see us in the Schwarzkopf Professional ASK Academy Vienna, where we had the honor to choose the best hair styles for the Austrian Hairdressing Awards 2017. We had such a great time there :).

Top 3 Beauty Products

January Recap The Cosmopolitas

Since I don’t do product reviews, but love to share products that I love, I decided to share every month my favorite beauty products with you. This time my top 3 favs are: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Cleansing Gel, Kiko Smart Lip Palette (Color 02) and Ahava Mineral Toning Water.

1. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Cleansing Gel

I’ve tried like 100 different cleansing gels, but literally every one of them was drying out my skin. After some while I just decided to put up with it and I thought this was just normal. However since I’ve been using the Clarisonic for almost 3 years now, changing the type of cleanser never came into question for me. I also don’t like using eye make-up removers so I’m always looking for clenasing gels that can be used on the eye-area to. Recently I was invited to the Neutrogena Hydro Boost launch event and got some samples of the products in the series. Of course, I instantly wanted to try this cleansing gel and I was so amazed!!!! It removed all of my make-up, even in the eye-area and my eyes didn’t burn. The best thing was that my skin was so soft afterwards and not dry at all. The ingredients are also great (no parabens, silicones or paraffinum liquidum) plus it contains hyaluronic acid. I can tell you guys, this will definitely be part of my daily routine!

2. Kiko Smart Lip Palette (Color 02)

Recently Kiko has launched this Lip Palette which contains 10 different colors. The one I have is called “Nude Profusion” and it has different shades of nude tones. Why do i love it? Since my lips are really pale, I never leave my apartment with no lipstick on, like never!!! However, ther is one thing that annoys me about many lipsticks – when they dry out my lips. Gosh, I hate this! However, if I put on lots of lip balm, then they don’t last that long. The colors in this palette however are so smooth, they don’t dry out the lips at all and you can even apply them with no lip balm. It is also pretty handy, since it’s not too big, I can carry them in my bag and change the color of my lips according to my mood (you gotta know that my mood changes like 100 times a day :D).

3. Ahava Mineral Toning Water

Some time ago I always used to have dry skin patches on my cheeks and my chin – no matter which face cream I used or how often I exfoliated. One day I was talking to a beauty advisor at Douglas and she asked me if I was using toning water; and I was like:” Uuuuuuhmmm, no?!”. Then she told me that this was probably the reason why I had these dry patches, especially since I was removing make up with a cleansing gel. Then I bought a toning water and guess what? The dry patches disappeared. From then on I always tried another toning water – from Yves Rocher, to Kiehl’s, to Lavera…. but then I stumbled upon this one from Ahava. And I will definitely stick to it! First of all it smells so good. The second thing is that it contains so many great ingredients ( Cucumber Fruit Extract, Orange Fruit Extract, Lemon Fruit Extract, Rose Water, Dead Sea Water,…) and again no parabens or paraffinum liquidum. It’s a bit pricier (about €22), but it lasts really long.
