Long time no outfit post :). Guys, I just realized how long I haven’t shown you any outfits. This time I’m back with my favorite trend of the season – the checked pattern. No matter where you go, the pattern is just everywhere and in all of its variatons. Today, however, I am focusing on one particular pattern, namely the glen check. Keep reading for some hard facts and outfit inspiration :).
What do you understand by glen check?
- Glen check is a particular checked print, which is not printed on the fabric, but rather weaved into it. The main characteristic of this pattern are longitudinal and transversal lines which together form a checked pattern.
Where does glen check originate?
- Glen check was invented in the Scottish Highlands and was primarily reserved for the aristocracy. Over time it has gained popularity and has become a well-liked pattern for pant suits, but rather for day occasions.
How to wear glen check today?
- This season you can see the pattern mostly on blazers, pants and skirts. Especially when it comes to blazers you can see what a huge trend it has become. Almost every second person on the streets wears a checked blazer :D. Even though the pieces with this pattern are rather sophisticated, the trend is to combine them with casual and cool pieces in order to ease the outfit a bit.
My currently favorite piece are these 3/4 glen check pants, especially combined with tip toed ankle boots. Since the pants are pretty elegant and the boots too, I took a hoodie in order to easen the outfit. As an additional detail I took this studded bucket bag.
How do you like the combination?
I WAS WEARING:
PANTS: BERSHKA //SHIRT: ASOS // HOODIE: BIK BOK // BAG: ZARA // COAT: VINTAGE // ANKLE BOOTS: ZARA // FISHNET STOCKINGS: H&M
