And now to culottes. I have heard thousands of excuses to not add a pair of culottes to a wardrobe. They make the legs look short; they have a weird length; you don’t know what shoes to wear; and it is impossible to find the right pair. Blah, blah, blah… If I had an euro for every time someone told me these reasons, I had be very rich by now. Very, very rich.
Anyway, let us give this trend a try. I will reveal you some tips how to find “the ones” for you. It isn’t easy – I know, but when you find the right ones, you will never ever want to take them off. Let us start!
The biggest secret to finding the right pair of culottes that works for you is in the length. The typical length of a culottes ends around the middle of the lower leg. Many are afraid this isn’t very flattering spot, but adding a little higher shoes in your outfit, can help to elongate the leg.
Some pairs hit right at the ankle. They look great with a platform shoe or sneakers and a crop top or a tighter top in general. And that fits everyone, whether you are small and curvy or tall and slim.
If you decide to wear some patterned culottes, keep your shirt and accessories to classic neutrals. Or if you want to go really stylish than don’t be afraid to match culottes and a crop-top set. And guys if you are afraid where to wear culottes, trust me you can wear them for every occasion. You can style them for a night out; a day at office or just for a stroll through town. You look so cute in this! I do struggle with styling culottes. I really liked them in the mid-2000s, but then when I look back at pictures they don’t look so good, and now I feel like I can’t trust my judgement in styling them!
