*Advertisement/In Collaboration with Humanic*
It’s been a while since I published my latest fashion post. A reason more to be super excited about this one, which was waiting to be published for a few weeks. I’ll tell you why in the next paragraphs. 🙂 I have to admit I wasn’t the biggest fan of ugly sneakers from the very beginning, but at some point…I desperately needed a pair. There are often trends I refuse to identify as cool and stylish, but the fact is…I’m a fashion and social media victim as well. Through social media, we learn to love things we don’t like and often the other way around. However, I would definitely say there are so many positive sides of the online world and I actually like the fact I’m being influenced a bit as well. Or maybe a lot. 🙂 Anyway, I was very much looking forward to sharing my three favorite ugly-sneakers-looks with you and I’m curious about your opinion. 🙂
LET´S TALK ABOUT TRENDS & STYLE
I loooove fashiion and my absolute dream would be to have a whole story included in my apartment for my clothes, shoes and bags. Well I don’t own that many yet, but that would be the tiniest problem in the whole story. .) For all of you who know me a bit longer, I can see you rolling your eyes and thinking: My God, what happed to Timo from 2012. 😀 I have (way too many) friends who keep reminding me how bad my fashion-style used to be ”back in the days”. Well, maybe I realized it myself at some point and now I’m trying to catch up for the “lost time”. 🙂
Jokes apart, lets focus on the trends and let me tell you why I had to withhold this blog post from you guys for a few weeks. I actually got the shoes about 4 weeks ago for the photo shoot and for my private use, but they were still in the production for the Austrian market. I simply couldn’t show it to you without having the information about where to get them. 🙂 However, I was extremely excited about sharing the pictures with you because I’m madly in love with bulky sneakers. For the ones who can’t live with the fact that ugly sneakers “are back”, please don’t judge and ask why. 🙂 It’s just the way it is and I’m sure it’s not a trend to last forever, but I kinda like it. This is why I created my 3 favorite looks I combined with my “Balenciaga-lookalike” sneakers. Bulky sneakers are definitely one of those trends not worth huge investments just to be cool for one or two seasons. Apart from pricey Balenciaga and Co., there are still many cool designs available for less than 100 dollars and my pair is one of them.
1. Ugly sneakers & checked “granny-skirts”
I already know what the reaction of my mom is going to be when she sees these pictures. I’m sure she is going to make fun of me and tell me that she and probably my grandma were both wearing those kind of skirts in the old days. Well, I actually wish I was wearing one of those very old and vintage pieces. At least I would be able to say I inherited them and could show off with my “vintageness”. 🙂 However, I definitely enjoy wearing this combo I would call “ugly sneakers & granny skirts” (even though the skirt is new, rather than vintage). 🙂 What do you think?
I WAS WEARING:
HOODIE: MANGO// BAG: PINKO // SKIRT: ZARA // TRENCH COAT: DIESEL // SHOES: KATE GREY VIA HUMANIC
2. Ugly Sneakers & dresses from the ’40s
OK I know it looks like I just cleared out the closets of my grandparents to show you my favorite looks with chunky sneakers…but I swear it wasn’t my intention at all. I first realized 2 of my 3 looks looked very vintage when I was going through the pictures. For this one, I would definitely say it´s a bit ladylike & sporty at the same time. Most of all, I very much like the mixture of the colors, because they all appear so energetic, yet harmonic and aesthetically pleasing (at least to my eyes). 🙂
I AM WEARING:
DRESS: ZARA // BAG: DIESEL // JACKET: ZARA // SHOES: KATE GREY VIA HUMANIC
3. Ugly sneakers & wide sweatpants
Let me introduce you my third look, which might include way too many trashy elements from the ’90s, but I’m deeply in love with it. All of you who follow “my life” through different social media channels and maybe even know me personally, I’m sure you noticed I have a huge crush on wide pants. Or actually on many wide and oversized clothes. These include at the moment this pair of extra wide sweatpants I’m seriously crazy about. They are simply so ’90s-like and if you google “sweatpants ’90s”, you are going to see what I mean. I love how they look with my colorful dad sneakers and the other garments. What do you think: Yay or Nay? And which one of the looks is your favorite?
I AM WEARING:
SWEATPANTS: DIESEL // BAG: H&M // BLOUSE: H&M // JACKET: DIESEL // SHOES: KATE GREY VIA HUMANIC
Such amazing outfits Timo! I love this sneaker style and the looks you’ve created! Simply love your style! 🙂
Thanks for the inspiration!
xoxo
