Lemon, lavender, pistachio and strawberry sorbet – these are not only yummy gelato species but also a trend you won’t be able to escape this spring/summer season. Ice cream aka pastel colors are 2018 fashion’s favorite treat. Pastel colors are ladylike and sweet looking shades that can be combined with almost any other color and we are seeing them in a whole new way. In this season, these colors were not only translated to lovely dresses, but also to blazers, trousers and more.
Now comes the question, how to incorporate these sweet colors into our wardrobes? Take notes and get ready! I’ve examined the pastel colors carefully and will let you know how to combine them and always be on point! Let’s start:
1. Start Small
If the thought of wearing pastels head-to-toe frightens you, start small with a pair of earrings or a sleek handbag. Or choose only one pastel piece of clothing, like a blazer and combine it with a pair of jeans and a white tee. You will look modern and joyful and still be rocking the pastel trend.
2. Keep It Simple
Still not ready for big jumps? No worries. Give your gelato look a calm note. Combine pastel pieces with neutrals: Pale lavender top with a white skirt or pistachio blouse with grey or cream tones.
3. All Over Look
If you are well-advanced, you can start out by choosing only one color and stick with it through the whole outfit. Just imagine dresses in sky blue or light pink! They look lovely and are ideal for warm summer days. If you want to bring it on to the next level and look like a fashion boss, try on a lemon colored pant suit. Pantsuits in pastel colors are not only sophisticated, but also rank among the best standout looks.
4. Mix It Together
Keep the look modern by pairing a few different pastel colors together. Dusty pink blazer, sky blue trousers and a sweet yellow top – everything is combinable when it comes to pastels.
This time in our blog series “One trend – different styles”, it’s all about the pastel colors, therefore I decided to try the “all-over-pastell” look with a pale pink pinstriped pantsuit. Never before I thought I could wear such an amount of “pink” in one outfit, but here I am, wearing pink and actually loving it. When it comes to pastels, my favorite hue is definitely yellow but at the moment I saw this mix & matching pansuit, I had to try it on and this is how this look “was born”.
How do you like my outfit lovelies? And what is your opinion on the ice cream colors?
