Where does the name „Polka dots“ come from?
Polka dots have their origins in the tradition of the Czech dance named polka. The word itself is derived from the Polish for “woman” which is translated to “little girl” in Czech. For this dance, all women wear playful dotted dresses, which reflect their femininity.
In the 50’s, polka dots have become world-famous through the cartoon character Minnie Mouse and ever since, we can’t imagine the fashion world without them.

How to Wear Dots?
Polka dots are really easy to style and there is no single person who couldn’t wear them. Pinky promise. Due to the fact that polka dots already appear very girlish, it’s important to find a balance. Otherwise you’ll look like a sweet Minnie Mouse. For example, tuck a polka dot blouse into a pair of blue jeans or wear a leather jacket over a dotted piece of clothing.

For this season, we like to mix dots with other patterns. Stripes, flowers or checks – the choice is yours. Our favorite? All-over-polka-dot-looks. 🙂 That was pretty clear, wasn’t it?
