Recently, it has become clear that checks in all their many forms are the key for the new season. The fall/winter 2018-2019 geometric patterns remain in focus, but this time more conspicuous and brighter.
This year brings us not only traditional interpretations in gray or brown but also some bright colors and sizes.
The other big trend this year is her majesty pantsuit, so if you’re going to buy one this season, make it a checked one. Pantsuits are always a good staple, so investing in a good one is an investment for future.
The best thing about checked pantsuits: You can wear them with everything! With sneakers or heels, with every bag — it will look amazing either way, it’s just a matter of personal style. You can wear a t-shirt under the blazer, an elegant blouse, a sweater or a bustier top. It all depends on where you’re going.
The only catch: Don’t mix to many patterns together.
Pantsuits are amazing for all seasons and you can wear them even during cold months thanks to layering. And speaking of that: “What looks more powerful than a suit with a coat over it?”
For which occasions can we wear a checked pantsuit?
To office, to meetings, shopping or dates — the list is endless. The first thing we need to do here is to make a distinction which colors are for which occasions. A neon green pantsuit is not ideal for a law firm of course. In this case, subdued colors make a good impression.
In your free time, you can set your imagination free and wear whatever you want. Red, yellow, red or blue — every color looks good on a checked pantsuit.
My look today was created some time ago, when the weather in Vienna was still autumnal. At the moment, we have low temperatures as if it was January, so it is impossible to walk around without a heavy jacket. Today I would put a wool coat over the pantsuit and a beret, to make the look wearable even at icy temperatures.
How about you? Do you like checks? And what do you think of a checked pantsuit?
