Trend report: Red | 3 ways to wear

If there is one color that dominates fall/winter 2017, then it’s undoubtedly red. In all stores, there’s red, red, red. Even though it’s a pretty saucy color not everyone dares to wear, we’ve found 3 different ways to wear it, even if you are not a red type of person when it comes to clothing :). That red was going to be the color of the year was clear after the fashion weeks for Fall/Winter 2017/18 at the latest. At Max Mara, Fendi, Altuzarra, Victoria Beckham, red was everywhere – from red shoes, coats, details to head-to-toe looks. The head-to-toe look is probably the most popular way to currently wear this trend. However, it is not easy to wear at all, especially if you don’t have so many red pieces in your closet.

That’s why we decided to show you 3 ways to wear this trend…with and without going head-to-toe: “a business look”, “a casual look” and “it’s all about details” for the ones who want to focus on details only.

1. Business Look

The times when wearing a traditional black or gray suit to work was “normal” are now a thing of the past. Instead of a classical pantsuit, brightly colored pantsuits are making their rounds in the fashion world. The good news is that they are wearable on many occasions, as well as in the office!

2. Casual Look

Red is a color that is associates with elegant and very feminine outfits. However, if you are rather a casual type, you can of course wear red in a totally cool and nonchalant way. Here is how we do it.

For a nonchalant look I opted for my favorite destroyed mom jeans, combined them with this red sweater and red boots. For an extra touch of coolness, I took my bag from MILK I got at the Vienna Fashion Week last month and wore it as a belt bag.

Casual Look by Kaja

Red as a trend is spreading like wildfire. Especially intensively bright, red tones are  completely on-trend and incredibly stylish. From dresses, t-shirts, pantsuits to bags and shoes – you can find everything in red!

For my casual look today I have combined several red pieces. I wear a red hoodie, a straight mom- jeans and red boots. If someone had told me that I would wear red shoes, my answer would have been “you are crazy! I would never wear red shoes!”. And look at me now – I’m totally crazy about this trend and I only wear these shoes!

3. Focus on Details

You know the feeling when you like a certain color or trend when another person is wearing it, but you could never imagine yourself wearing these pieces? Well, we know this too well. If you’re not feeling the head-to-toe red look or you’re not feeling comfortable while wearing red clothes, then you might focus on the details such as a red bag, shoes, belt or a scarf.

This time I stayed on the safe side and opted for a black and red combination. I combined this beautiful black dress I got on my trip to Zagreb 2 weeks ago with these red boots I’ve been so obsessed with lately and this major eye-catcher of a bag, namely this Kasper Stripes Bag by Marina Hoermanseder for LUISAVIAROMA. Isn’t it beautiful?

Kaja’s Look

Red is definitely this season’s hottest trend and we cannot get around it. But if you are not quite ready to go red all over, that should not be a problem. How about focusing on only one red piece instead? You can keep the rest of your outfit rather quiet. For this look, I have combined a red sweater with black pants and a white bag.

But, if you don’t quite feel like rocking a red outfit, you can simply wear red accessories, for example a red mini bag or a scarf. Accessories can make a statement too, even though they are not too much in-your-face.

Red is without doubt the hottest color of the fall/winter season – and we cannot get enough of the looks at all! Even if the color seems quite bold, you can create a right red look with some practice. We hope that we could inspire you with our tips and that you  have got an insight into this trend color!
